To get online with Robo follow these steps:

1. Select New Player Signup Page from Robo's New Players Page. This online web form contains information to permit Robo to contact you, and tells Robo how you want to be presented to the rest of the world. Take great care when supplying your EMail address since, if you make a spelling error, Robo's responses to you will be lost in the net. The CodePhrase (password) that the form is asking for is anything that you wish to make up at this time. The CodePhrase is required when using Robo's web pages to change your settings and join or drop games. It is also the basis of the encryption password for web posted RST files.

2. You don't have to wait for Robo to get back to you with confirmation of your settings before you join your first TEST game - you can do that right away. This of course assumes that you haven't made a mistake in your initial setup. Robo will send you the RST and all data files for the Echo Cluster that the game is played in. He sends the maps and other files even if they are the default maps that come with PLANETS just to be safe. Included in the initial RST note are instructions for unpacking and playing the game.

3. After playing the TEST RST and creating a TRN, you should use PKZip to zip your TRN file and return it to robo@robomaster.ca . Ensure that your mailer can encode the binary TRN file in any of UUE, BinHex, LCMCODE, or Base64/MIME formats as a note attachment. Many mailers will do this automatically. Links to the UUEncode and PKZip software can be found on Robo's Home page. Robo will reply that he has received it and placed it in the right place. If he either does not get back to you, or says that he has done something else to the TRN, or that there was no TRN... then it is time to be concerned. To test your mailer, send yourself the note by creating it as if you were sending it to Robo, but address it to yourself.

4. Your Karma starts at zero. When Robo runs the game and sends you the next RST you should have a Karma of 50. Once your Karma is above 9.000 then you can safely drop the TEST game and join a real one.
